Celebrate the Year of the Snake
Kingsway is proud to host the Lunar New Year Festival on February 1, 2025 from 11 am to 5 pm, in partnership with the Chinese Graduates Association of Alberta.
The festival includes a comprehensive program of family-friendly performances, games, workshops, and more.
Events will take place throughout Kingsway, with larger performance and workshop areas taking place on the main level near JD Sports and upper level near Marshalls.
Event Schedule
The following performances will take place on the main stage near JD Sports:

Lion Dance Parade
The Lion Dance Parade will make its way throughout Kingsway starting at 11:30 am.
The lion dance is a traditional Chinese performance that occurs during Lunar New Year and other festivals, believed to bring good luck, prosperity, and drive away evil spirits for the upcoming year. The dance features performers dressed as lions, accompanied by the sound of drums, cymbals, and gongs.
Cultural Workshops & Shows
Workshops
Participate in cultural workshops and acquire a new skill. Workshops will be located in HyperPOP, on the upper level near Hudson’s Bay.
